These mudguards use the standard fitting to frames/forks with mudguard eyelets.

Please note these mudguards are now coming pre drilled.

Bracket for rear brake bridge fitting NOT included. Available separately, SJSC part 28520

We highly recommend using a second, vertical stay on the rear guard to reduce "bouncing".

ProsSolid, well made and very neat.
These really are a fine alternative to all those plastic mudguards which I have fitted over the years and which have invariably snapped or rattled their way to the bin.
The fitting components are simple and strong, making sure that these look neat and do not vibrate.
Being stainless means that hopefully these will last for the lifetime of my faithful old bike.

ProsBombproof,Shiny
Long after your bike is just a pile of nuts, bolts and flakes of rust, these babies will still be shiny and perfectly round. Super strong and very rigid: no vibration and will take any knock you give them. They do need to be drilled and fitted, but the build quality is superb. Their deep section lets no water escape from the sides at all. Quality product, highly recommended............and oh so shiny!

By

Hi SJS
I can see the other questions, but just to be sure. Are these good for old school 35-590 / 26x13/8 wheels as found on traditional British 3 speeds?
Cheers!
Andy
Hi, yes they are. Thanks

Which width of mudguard can I use for Michelin World Tour 35mm tyres? Is 40 OK?
By

we would suggest 45mm would be ideal, so you will probably have to favour the 40mm option.

Will these fit an Islabike Luath pre 2016
By
04 Sep 2019
Islabike no longer stock mudguards for pre 2016 Islabike Luath 26 inch wheel bikes. It's a kid's 26'' wheel road/cyclocross bike running 1.35''' tyres. The fork gap is 40mm. Would these fit?
In theory yes, we would not be able to confirm with out trying it!

What's the circumference of the front mudguard?
By

Also, how far does the mudguard extend to the front, past the fork crown mount?

Hi there,

The circumference of the front mudguard is approximately 97cm. The mudguard extends from the fork crown mount approximately 28cm.

Thanks.
What size should fit 2.15" Schwalbe Big Apples?
By
29 Mar 2019
Running on a Surly LHT 26" frame.

Thanks!
Hi there,

2.15 = 54.61mm so we would recommend using size 26x60.
Will these fit 2.35" tyres?
By
18 Mar 2019
I have 2.35" tyres on my 26" Surly LHT. Just wondering if it'd be possible to fit the wide version of these onto it?
2.35=59.69mm, so a 60mm would give you no clearance, we would look for a 65-70mm guard.

Thanks - 19/03/19

Hi I’m not sure to get the short or long 26x 50mm what would you suggest ? What would the difference be between long and short ? Also will I need to get a rear brake bridge kit.
Hi there,

Whether you get short or long will be down to personal preference. Basically the difference between them would be how much of the wheel the mudguards would cover, meaning that the longer they are the more they will cover. Yes you would need get a rear brake bridge kit.

Thanks.

Do I *need* the brake bridge mounting kit?
By
26 Jun 2018
Riding a surly lht with a brake bridge and free mounting points on the seat stays and by the rear axle. Thanks
Hi there,

As you are already using a brake bridge we would say that you would need it. As we have never tried this we cannot say for certain im afraid.

Thanks.

I notice no front mudflap or rear reflector. Can you supply parts that suit & fit ?
Hi there,

Generally any of our mudflaps should work, as long as the widths are matched up and you are happy to drill a small hole or two in the mudguard. For the reflector you could use - SJS Cycles part number : 44735, again you will need to drill two small holes.

Thanks
can I purchase a set of Gilles Berthoud mudguard stays separately from you
By

from reading the other answers, I guess I should be buying the 26 x 60mm fenders? im not sure if i need the seperately purchased mounting kit though. I have a kona Kilauea 94 frame with mounting bridges on chain and seat stays at the rear. also do you do the leather mudflaps for the front? many thanks. Rob
Hi,

You would indeed be best going for the widest 60mm guards. The main fittings are included, it is only the rear brake bridge clip that needs to be purchased separately. We do stock the leather mud-flaps as well and these are SJSC part number 27781.

Thanks.
Will these fit around 27 inch wheels and still look and work OK
By
11 Jul 2017
Hi,

Due to the reduced profile size we would not recommend these guards, you would be better off going for the larger 700c option as this would follow the profile of your tyres slightly better.

Thanks.

Would The 60Mm Guards Fit A 3
By
24 Oct 2016
Hi,

Although you question was cut off I'm assuming you're asking if the 60mm guards will cover 3" tyres. These guards will not be wide enough I'm afraid. 3" tyres are 75mm wide so will sit much wider than these guards.

Thanks.
What Size For 2
By
17 Sep 2016
What size for 2" tyres? (Kojaks)
Hi,

For use with 2" tyres you would be best off with the 60mm wide option, in theory you could use the 50mm guards but there would be very little or no clearance at the sides.

Thanks.
