ProsShimano
Very good, as far as tested (Few miles!). Usual quality feel of Shimano. Do note that the 24 and 28 teeth are bolt on sprockets to the 21 tooth cog. (They do not actually attach to the 'axle'). Used it to replace MF TZ06.
Excellent service by SJS: very prompt delivery, and good email contact

Much better than the cheap rubish that came on my son's bike and that siezed with a week of riding in the rain!

The freewheel has an approximate thickness of 30mm as previously listed. SK 18/09/23
can I swop the 18t cog for 11t Shimano mftz500
By
19 Jul 2020
currently 14-28 teeth
will this affect gear changing
Hi, I'm not sure what your are asking. The MFTZ500 freewheel is 14-34. Your current derailleur might not cope with the change from 28 to 34 teeth. Your chain may need to be longer too. Thanks
Is the Shimano MTZ20 compatible with a circa 1980s super record hub?

Hi, sorry we can't be sure about this. The only way to be sure is buy one and try it. Thanks 22/05/2019
Is this compatible with a 1986 Carlton Carrera
By
01 Apr 2019
1986 Carrera, Shimano cassette silver 6 speed.tooth range 13-15-17-19-21-24.
Thanks
None of the information provided relates to whether this would fit or not, you also mention a cassette but this is a freewheel. We would need to know about the rear hub, derailleur and what is currently fitted.

Thanks - 02/04/19
What is the depth of the freewheel?
By
16 Jul 2018
(Distance from the outside of the small cog to the outside of the large cog).

Thanks.
Hi there,

This measurement is approximately 30mm.

Thanks.

Will The Mftz20 6 Speed Feewheel Fit An Old Wheel?
By
01 May 2015
I have a 6 speed 12/21T which is 25+ years old on a Athena wheel hub.
To old to climb up hills and looking to easy the gearing to the 14/28T.
Will the new freewheel fit? I have a standard old 105 slider group set on the cycle. I have been told this will not work?
Hi,

This freewheel should be the same thread so should fit the wheel fine. As this freewheel is Shimano's Hyperglide system you would need to purchase a Hyperglide chain to go with it as you original chain would not be compatible, otherwise you should be able to set it up and get it to work fine.

Thanks.
