This is a great option for a neo-retro steel frame bike build. The seat post is reminiscent of the Campagnolo aero-style posts from the 70's and 80's.

good wellpriced seat post. as others have said similar to the campag posts of yesteryear. bit heavy but you don't buy a post like this if you are concerned about being a weight weenie and it isn't rotating weight . i imagine it will last as it seems well made and solid. bought for an 80s road bike renovation.

Well-Fabricated Seat Post Reminiscent Of A Classic

Consweight
Prosdesign, price
This seatpost's design reminds a bit of the Campagnolo Aero seatposts. It is however sturdier and unexpectedly heavy (given the fact it's made from aluminium). It's got about 4 mm thick walls which gives it a total weight of about 358 g (the Campagnolos weigh about 250 g).

Given its price and availability however, it is a good fit for any (pseudo) retro build.

My old steel frame bike has just been renovated and it's just awesome. Kit includes an aero post but sadly, as my legs are so short, I have to have the saddle lower than this post allows for (I think you've referenced this in other answers). So, my question: is there a similar product which has a smaller minimum exposed post length ? Meantime, I have ordered a standard tube post that I can actually get out on this bike ! Many thanks
Yes, most likely the Nitto and Ritchey Posts.

Thanks

What is the minimum amount of post that can be left protruding
Hi there,

The minimum insertion is 70mm, the maximum is 125mm - roughly 100mm to the center of the rails.

Thanks

Thanks
How thick are tube walls?
By

Are the walls thick enough to turn this down on a machinist lathe to 26.4mm OD?
Alternatively, is the internal diameter for the 27.2mm post the same as the 25.4mm?
Many thanks
Henry
Hi there,

The tubing is roughly 3.9mm. We would not recommend reducing the overall diameter due to strength compromises.
The ID of the 25.4mm post is smaller.

Thanks
How "Polished" Is This Seatpost?

For my build I need a mirrorlike finish.
Hi,

The pictures offer up a true representation, they are polished but are no where near to being a mirror like finish I'm afraid.

Thanks.

What Is The Minimum Insertion Length?

And is the 218mm length from the base to the rail clamps?
Hi,

The minimum insertion length is 70mm. Yes the 218mm length refers to the length from the base to the rail.

Thanks.
