Previously used plastic/rubber valve shims that work yet over time break down....either due to wear or not a UV stable material. Being alloy, these are brilliant! Perfectly machined ie no rough edges and once secured with rim tape there’s no concern losing them.

Good item when you have drilled out your rims to take both valve types. I recommend coating with some Copperease or similar as over time they can fuse with the rim due to oxidation.

Had bought a second hand rim with a presta value hole whereas old rim still had the schrader hole so bought one of these to fit in the schrader hole to enable me to ride with presta tubes on both wheels. Old rim was quite slim on the inside and the wheels manufacturing presta valve saver did not fit in flush with the rim - I just left it where it was though and put the new tyre on and pumped up the tube. Seems to do the trick - no obvious issues. Wheel rides perfectly.

I bought a pair of these, as a cheap wheelset I bought for a restoration project had different rim drillings front and rear - Schrader on the rear, presta on the front. Rather than carry two different vavled tubes, I bought one of these to let me safely use presta tubes in the schrader drilled rim.

Reflected for a long time before drilling out my Rigid Andra 26 inch rims. Now drilled out for Schrader valves the rim remains very strong. This little grommet is better and stronger than the rubber or plastic alternatives.

My Brompton was my only bike with schraeder valves and I was looking for a way of adapting the rims to take some Schwalbe SV4 inner tubes with Presta valves. These useful and inexpensive adapters enabled me to do just that and I can now use my track pump on the Brompton without having to hunt arround for an adaptor . . .

I used this to fit a nutted brake to an old steel fork that someone had drilled out to fit an Allen key brake.
This little fella sleeved the hole perfectly.

These do the job of allowing me to use presta valved tubes in Schraeder holed rims. I've used them for about 11,000km of touring on my recumbent trike through Australia and Africa, with some serious wet conditions much of the time in some countries. They corroded, but nothing serious, still functioned.
