They were easy to fit, I found putting the handlebar mounts in hot water softened them and made fitting easy. The need adjustment often at the start of the ride but really useful and discrete.

Conseasy to knock out of alignment,
Prosgood field of view
Fitted a pair of these to my winterbike and love them. I can see what (or who) is behind me at a glance without wobbling!
Field of view is very good tho it's difficult to see detail, especially on poor road surfaces. (I can see there's a car coming but not what kind of car.)
My only complaint is that it's easy to knock them out of alignment - I sometimes do it with my leg when I put a foot down. On the other hand it's also easy to straighten them out again, even while riding.
Def. recommend - I've just bought another pair for my best bike.

A superb product. A great aid for safer cycling and useful when group riding to know where the other riders are. Be aware that vehicles/riders are very much closer than they appear in your mirror. They also look very smart even on light weight road bike.

ConsWould have said only bought in pairs but SJS sell them as signles too!
ProsUseful before turning across the flow of traffic at junctions
I've bought these mirrors for all my and my wife's road bikes. I've used these now for about three years and can honestly say they're really useful. My hearing isn't as good as it was 30 years ago so I sometimes get surprised by cars coming up behind me. By regularly checking in the Sprintech mirror I have much more awareness of what's going on behind me and this is particularly useful when you want to perform a right turn and pull out across traffic coming up behind you. I tend to use just the right hand mirror (in the UK) and use the left-hand one on another bike (works just as well even though they're meant to be left- and right-handed).

ConsConvex lens takes a while to get used to
ProsEasy to fit and use. Vibration free.
These are easy to fit without risk to the bike (I've had paint damage from clamp on types). They don't vibrate at all and stay clean and clear.
Perfectly positioned for quick checks to see if anything is immediately behind before manoeuvring.
Only cautionary note, is that the lenses are convex and cars etc. coming up behind are closer than they appear.

ConsNot the cheapest mirrors - but should last.
ProsDesigned to fit specifically on the ends of the drops.
Work very well. Have convex mirrors so gauging distance of rear objects takes a little practice. Very easy to fit. Easy to adjust on the move. Good view when on drops or hoods. Dont shake about. Seems more resistant to damage due to quality of plastic and position on the handle bars. Prices vary hugely - SJS were best value.

These work really well. They don't vibrate or move when riding even on fast descents. You can easily knock them out of position when leaning your bike against a wall, but they're also easy to reposition when riding. They have a good field of vision whether on the tops, hoods or drops.

ConsPricey for what they are, I often knock it with my knee when riding out of the saddle.
ProsEffective, good field of vision, light, easy to install
The mirrors are a good size and dont vibrate much when attached to the bar ends. I only actually use one, on my right hand bar end, it works really well and I now find myself using it all the time, I monitor approaching cars and can move closer to the kerb accordingly, good for seeing faster cyclists slowing gaining ground on me too!

ConsHaving to rely on hearing, as vehicles come into view very late. Only available in pairs.
ProsEasy to fit
I found that I was having to rely on my hearing, as the cars seemed to change from a virtual non-existent spec to respectable view very quickly. I was also prone to being knocked out of alignment very easily.

It would be interesting to try the "Italian Road Bike Mirror", which I've seen used by many cyclists on continental European roads.

It's a nice mirror but because it's only available as a pair and they're handed, I have no need for the left-hand one. And the image is rather small.

ConsProne to getting knocked by knees when pulling away
ProsGood size and shape to give a good view, easy to adjust
They do exactly what I wanted - a view behind to increase my spacial awareness without having to turn my head. However not a substitute for a lifesaver glance when turning at a junction.
They don't vibrate or move when going over potholes but they do move when knocked by my knees when pulling away.

ConsFocal length of mirror means view of cars behind come upfrom small to large quickly
ProsSleek look, easy adjustment, vibration free
I have fitted mirrors to most of my bikes, finding them every bit as useful and safe as mirrors on the car. These fit in seconds, do not compromise the lines of my road bike, are easy to adjust, and, best of all, are vibration free.

ProsValue, durable, effective
I use just the R/H one and it gives a clear view without getting in the way or looking clumsy. It was very easy to fit and the surface has not deteriorated in many months of use. It gives me peace of mind if I have to use a busier road (and I can also see when my training partner is about to launch an attack!!)

Consquite a small image
ProsDiscreet, robust, affordable, dual
It's great to be able to see what's behind you. There is no perfect mirror but these meet my needs: they give a reasonable view and survive many knocks and falls (they drop our rather than breaking just remember to pick them up!).
As Anonymous says, also look over your shoulder.

ProsVison, looks adjustability
These work very well without spoiling the bike's overall lines and getting in the way (I fitted them to drops). Easy to fit and adjust or readjust on the move, if they get knocked. Give surpisingly good rear view vision and advance notice of traffic behind you, particularly on quieter roads where traffic may be rare or more unexpected. Definitely look over the shoulder for a for a right turn though! Good value and very useful. Good despatch time from SJS too.

Will These Mirrors Fit Either Side?
By
11 Dec 2015
I am thinking of buying a pair of these mirrors and want to fit one on the right hand side of both our bikes. Will they fit either side or are they for specific sides?
Hi,

Although the fittings are identical between either side the mirrors themselves are shaped to be side specific I'm afraid. There is nothing stopping you using one of the the left hand mirrors on the right hand side but the field of view won't be as good.

Thanks.
