The external bottom bracket is available with two different bearing options. All common systems are covered with this upgrade unit - making it ideal for Shimano, Race Face and others.

The machined aluminium cups hold either full steel cartridge bearings or ceramic bearings in stainless races. These custom, Swiss made bearings are double sealed, fully serviceable and removable which give much greater life span than stock units. The bearings are made (as all Hope bearings are) by INA and have been designed to run directly on the crankset axle, without the use of shims or spacers - again increasing life and reliability. The unit is suitable for 68 & 73 mm shell width's, 83 mm width and specific road unit.

Standard 6 colours are available on cups - red, blue, silver, black, gold and gunmetal, with the centre tubes being black on the stainless and gunsmoke on the ceramic.

- CNC machined in Barnoldswick, England
- Custom stainless steel and ceramic bearings by INA of Switzerland
- Internal and external sealing
- Bearings are replaceable
- Weight: 113g (Stainless) / 109g (Ceramic)

I recommend this product
Consa bit pricey compared to others but well worth it.
Prosbeautifully engineered, easy to fit.
Fitted this to my somewhat converted GT Zaskar commuting bike as a replacement for the old Shimano unit. The fitting was a doddle once I cleaned the threads on the bottom bracket shells.

The result was a revelation and the additional stiffness of power transfer was brilliant. Now I know this is primarily my commuting rig but it also gets alot of hammer as a teaching tool for cycle training. The Botom bracket feels so nice to use and my energy now gors into propelling the bike forward instead of overcoming frictional losses and flex around the bottom bracket.

A nice bit of kit!
