I recommend this product
ConsDon't forget the outer cable stops!
ProsOld school
Just right if you need old school exposed brake cables. Work fine with newer dual pivot callipers. Must be used in conjunction with an outer brake cable stop that sits at the top of the lever housing. The cable set that SJS recommends includes these.

Perfect for that retro look without breaking the bank. A doddle to fit and work as well as many of the higher end models.

Will These Lever Work With Early 1990 Shimano 105 Brakes
12 Apr 2014
I have an old raleigh dyna tech and I want to enter the eroica event. It will be okay if I fit brake levers where the cable comes out of the top.
I assume this is what these levers are. As above its an early 1990 Shimano group set (it originally came with aero levers). So would they work with the 105 brakes and also do you need a special cable or just the standard cable required.
SJS Customer Service:

Yes these use the cable that comes out of the top of the lever and they should work fine with old Shimano 105 brakes. These use a standard road brake cable.
