ConsPoor finish, fixed cable pull
ProsSplit handlebar clamp.
Colourwise these are more grey than silver. The paint chips easily, scratching where the cable end goes into the clip on the end of the lever itself. The lever feels thin and not a patch on the machining quality of the 1995 lever it was to replace. Reach adjustable, but the cable pull isn't. To add insult to injury the cable barrel adjusters are plastic. Cheap enough at £12, not worth anything like the RRP. For about the same money, go for Avid Speed Dials. I have both, and much as I wanted to like these, the Avids will be going on my build, not these.

Compatibility with Tektro V-brakes, part no. 37459 on a North Road type bar??

I'm also looking at the Tektro 374TK lever (part no. 37602) which presumably would be a good match in terms of cable pull. These Deores look nicer, but would they work as well with the Tektro brakes?

Either levers would work, the Shimano option is a much nicer lever in terms of quality.
