I replaced my hood covers with the levers off. Using a little talc, they slid on fine. Obviously they are a tight fit as you’d expect. I think they are quite expensive (as with all bike spare parts), but the service from SJS was quick and efficient.

These hoods can be quite a struggle to fit if you are attempting to fit with the shifters attached.Use plenty of alcohol hand gel and make sure the rubber does not curl at the clamp end.Once fitted perfect shape.

Fine once fitted. However, they are very fragile and prone to splitting. Best idea is to back the shifter off the bar and put on from behind, but this is time consuming and obviously involves removing cables/tape as well.
