Are these suitable for roller brakes

SJS Customer Service:

The Sturmey Archer brake levers were originally designed for use with their roller / drum brakes which use the shorter cable pull. This means that it can be used with caliper and cantilever brakes as well.

Does Sturmey Archer S80 Brake Lever need SA cables?

I have some new standard generic brake cables, but it seems the SA brake lever cylindrical pivot attachment clip is too big in diameter, allowing the standard brake cable pivot to rotate in the clip.
Does the S80 need the specific SA cables to work correctly?
I'm using the brake levers on a cantilever brake system.

Hi, this is designed to work with 5mm outer diameter cable- and Mtb style barrel ended inner brake cables.

What Diameter Of Bars Is This Lever For?

I require a single lever for stoker bars on my tandem and am not sure of the diameter but normal mountain bike levers are too small diameter.

This brake lever has a clamping diameter of 22.2mm which is the standard size for flat bars. If you email in a picture to me at [email protected] then I can see what sort of bars you have and find the best brake lever to match.
