These frame parts are longer than standard, for larger wheels – so the folded size is a bit larger, and standard accessories like mudguards either won’t fit or have to be modified to fit. The riding position is a bit different with these frames, the bottom bracket (where the pedals attach) is about 3cm higher than standard.

These Brompton-compatible rear triangles were designed for Rohloff but are suitable for fitting most standard rear hubs to a Brompton.

The design has been refined over 10 years of making hundreds of Rohloff Bromptons.

Made entirely from 304 marine-grade stainless steel, they won’t rust.

The rear frame has a 135mm OLN width (the Brompton normally is 112mm) so will work with most standard hubs like the Rohloff and Alfine.

IS disc brake mounts and enough space for a 160mm rotor.

They work with normal Brompton frame rollers and Eazy wheels, brakes, and the standard suspension block. Standard L Type mudguards and rear rack will also fit, and if you use a Rohloff it also uses the standard Brompton single-speed tensioner.

Lifetime warranty.

Instead of the standard 16"(349mm) wheels, these are designed for the following;

18? (355): This size is shared with the Birdy folding bikes, and can use either the fat 2? Big Apple tyres, or knobbly mountain bike tyres.
20? (406): This is the largest wheel size, so rolls very well, and is great for road riding – the fattest tyre that can be fitted is a 1.3? slick. Because of the larger diameter, gearing is increased – this is especially useful if you want higher than standard Rohloff gearing.

The lower stop disc bolt also needs to be cut down a bit, because the stretch rear triangle doesn’t fold as far under, because of the bigger wheel.

- there are some extra requirements if you want to fit mudguards, please email [email protected] to discuss this.

Stretch Forks must be used with a Stretch Triangle to ensure the bike rides and folds correctly.
