I recommend this product
ConsWeight could be lower
ProsWell made, light, easy to fit
I have this on a hybrid that I use for touring. It is light, strong and easy to fit to the brake mounts/axle. It takes my Ortlieb front panniers easily. I particularly like the top part where I can bungee yet more stuff if necessary. This makes it far simpler to balance the load between front and back. The bike handles well when loaded up using this rack. Overall thoroughly recommended.

Tyre Clearance On 29Er?
By
30 Mar 2016
Will this definately fit a disc braked 29er and can you confirm the largest tyre size it will clear please? I have a surly Ogre which can run up to a 3" 29er plus tyre up front although normally I'd be running 2.5" .
Many thanks
Bill in exeter.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

Without having your bike here its hard to say for sure I'm afraid. This rack measures 380mm from the centre of the quick release to the underside of the rack top, so as long as the top of your tyre sits less than 380mm above the centre of the axle then you should be fine.

Thanks.
Quick Release Skewer Length
By
20 Jul 2015
Does this rack require, and come with, an longer quick release skewer? If a longer skewer is not provided could you tell me which skewer I need to buy? Also, I will be fitting this rack to disc suspension forks, do you have the necessary fork leg attachment clips avaiable for sale. Thanks.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

The extra long quick release skewer required for fitting this rack is provided with it. The P-clips for fitting these racks are available in various sizes, I'd recommend measuring the diameter of your forks before purchasing any. The Old Man Mountain p-clips are SJSC part 25558, then just select the desired size from the drop-down menu.

Thanks.

... on OMM website they have 2 model SF265M for 26 inch and SF295M for 700 and 29. Which one of these is SJS's.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

Only the larger version is brought into the UK by Old Man Mountain's UK distributor. The larger version is still compatible with 26" wheels it will just provide you with a larger amount of clearance.

Thanks.

Will This Fit A Carerra Subway?

Will this front rack be suitable for fitting to a Carerra Subway. It has for mountings but also has wide gape forks...

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

This rack doesn't need any specific mounting, it mounts to the quick release skewer and the v-brake bosses. As long as your fork has v-brake bosses then this rack will fit even if you have wide forks.

Thanks.
