Very happy with a like for like swap. The same cassette lasted 2 years of constant use though because I tend to stick in 2 of the 7 gears for most of my riding that's where the wear was. The other 5 gears were unworn. Slick changing back
haven't fitted yet so.....

Can I use this for my Dawes Galaxy Twin tandem?
By

I need to replace the cassette (14-28t, around 38mm inside diameter) on my Galaxy Twin tandem. Would the Shimano Acera CS-HG41 7 Speed Cassette be suitable for it?
If not what is the product I need as well as the tool to take it off?
Regards,
Jacques

Fitting on 11 Speed Hub
By
27 Jul 2018
Hi,
I'm looking to experiment with fitting my old beater on my smart direct drive turbo as a permenant turbo bike. The turbo has an 11 speed hub, plus came with a spacer for "8-9-10" speed cassettes. Will that spacer be sufficient or will I need more (like the sproket washer mentioned in the other question)?
Thanks
This should be okay without, but sometimes you do need that spacer depending on the particular hub shell / cassette.

Thanks
Cassette loose on splines
By
10 Aug 2017
I have just replaced an old Shimano Exage 500X 7 speed cassette with a Shimano CS-HG41 7 Speed Cassette supplied by your good selves.
The old 6 sprocket stack appear to be thicker than the new ones. This means that when the lock ring is tightened, the 6 new sprockets are slightly loose on the splines.
It would appear that the gap between the 7th sprocket and the others is only about 1 mm.
Is there a thin spacer shim available for this setup?
Also, the old chain appears to ride up when used on the 11 tooth sprocket (it is fine on the other 6). Could a new chain prevent this?
Many thanks
You need to fit 2 (perhaps just 1) Shimano CS-HG50-7 Sprocket Washer - 1mm - Y11E03000 (our item # 6776) BEHIND the cassette as the Exage 500 hub was not designed for 11t top sprockets.
Is It A Design For Hybrid Also

Hi,

As long as your bike is designed to take a 7spd cassette then this will be fine.

Thanks.
