essential bit of kit for a langster

I recommend this product
used the 8mm on my langster to stop the rear wheel sliding forwards under hard acceleration, appear to do the job

30 quid may seem expensive, but they are nicely machined bits of steel. Very clever combination of a normal threaded bolt and then a sleeve like bolt with threads running in opposite directions, so that as you screw in clockwise, the sleeve bolt comes out of the tug whilst also pulling the inner bolt rearwards. Almost as hard to conceive as a rubric cube.

Rather than using the small thread from the 5mm version, MKS could improve this by using more sturdy bolts, and I wonder about the long term longevity of these small bolts given the force and tension they are under.

Consa wee bit dear
Prosdoes the job perfectly
work easily and effectively wish I'd bought them years ago as they prevent the slight wheel slippage that builds up over time and results in a slack chain.

Hi
The axle on my Rohloff is 1mm diameter and sticks out 5mm on each side.
1. Would it stand up to the torque of a Rohloff wheel?
2. What's the diameter of the hole? Needs to fit 10mm.
3. Is the metal ring less than 5mm thick?
Please email [email protected] so we can further assist with this please.

Hi, unfortunately this item is no longer made, so it is very unlikely unless we happen on some old stock. Thanks
Hi, Will these fit a Vitus Vee?

We could not say without test fitting, we would recommend something like the DMR chain tensioner over these as they are track bike designed.

Hi there,

I would recommend contacting your local Kalkhoff dealer to confirm the compatibility.

8mm version socket head or hex bolt?
By
27 Oct 2017
Hi there,

Ive seen different versions/pictures of these. Does the 8mm version have an external hex bolt rather than the recessed socket head as pictured on your website, or do both of your versions have the recessed socket head?
Hi,

The 5mm versions have the external hex bolt where as the 8mm versions use the recessed allen key bolt.

Thanks.

Which Size Mks Canjs Chain Tug For Spesh Langster?

Which size MKS CANJS Chain Tug for Specialized Langster 2009?

5mm or 8mm?
Hi,

Unfortunately as we have never sold your bike or ever even had one here we would have no way of knowing for sure which size it is you need. This information is not available from Specialized either I'm afraid, so your only option is to measure your dropouts to see how thick they are so you know which size to purchase.

Thanks.
