Compatible replacement for FSA Omega Compact 50/34
By
07 Mar 2023
Looking to replace an FSA Omega Com[act 50/34 with 46/30 would this be compatible (Bottom bracket: FSA BB-4000)
Hi
Thank you for your enquiry, I can confirm that this chainset is compatible with the FSA BB-4000 bottom bracket. I hope this helps.
Kind Regards. JP 08/03/23
Chainline compatibility
By
19 Jan 2023
Chainline is stated as 44mm. I believe that this is standard for a road double with 130mm OLN rear dropouts. If the bike has 135mm OLN rear dropouts (eg if it has disk brakes) then the ideal chainline would be around 47mm. Please confirm that this chainset is more suitable for a 130mm OLN bike. I believe FSA do produce other chainsets with 47mm chainline.

The chain set is ideally suited to a 44mm chain line, it will however work with a 47mm set up, the chain may rub on the outer chainring in extreme cases. SK 19/01/2023

One of the giant bikes comes with FSA Omega Adventure 48/32 and FSA MegaExo, press fit BB

Can I just buy 46/30 chainrings or would I have to buy a new chainset?
Sadly we do not sell rings that are compatible with this FSA chainset, however, you might be able to source them elsewhere.

Thanks, 30.12.20

Can I change these for lower gearing for scottish tour.
If you have 46/30 then this would not offer any lower. We do not know of anything else you could fit, probably look at a bigger cassette or a triple.

Would this be suitable for a Cannondale Topstone 105 2019?

The bike came fitted with the below chainset and BB.
FSA Omega ME Alloy, 46/30
Bottom bracket FSA MegaExo
I have been advised to get shorter cranks to help with my knee pain and wanted to check if these would be a suitable replacement? Thanks.
Yes, these will fit.

Can I use this with my 2014 genesis equilibrium 10, hollow tech II bb.

It is 10speed double, I'd like to convert it for a lightweight tour in Scotland, this chain set looks like the easiest way to change the gearing for touring.
Yes, but you would need - SJS Cycles part number : 50128
