Shimano Tiagra SL-4600 10 Speed Rapidfire Shift Lever for Flat Bar - Double - Right Hand bought theses shifters to run with a deore 9 speed rear mech but will not index on the 4 largest rear cogs

can i run this RD with a 12-36 rear cassette and a single 34 tooth front ring
Hi there,

You should be able to use this without an issue, however as we have never done this we cannot say for certain.

Thanks.

or only a 9spd shimano non-shadow rear Rear Derailleur? (e.g. deore)
Hi there,

You should be fine to use a 10 road derailleur such as this.

Thanks
is this the correct pull ratio for use with 6600 ultegra 10speed shifters?

Im trying to increase the max cassette capacity with 6600 shifters. Many threads on the net suggested a 9 spd MTB mech but i cant get the indexing perfect at both the top and bottom of the cassette at the same time. a few other folks seem to have this issue. I gues the pull ratios there are slightly different after all. given its the same era Shimano road are the pull ratios between 6600 and 4600 shifets /mech the same? I can then add a wolftooth roadlink to get the bigger max tooth clearance and have correctly indexed spread of gears...
Hi there,

This should work with the 6600 shifters. You can then use our extender - sjscycles part number - 29368

Thanks
can i run a 4600ss with 32-11 on the rear?

I have tiagra 4600ss and want to go to 32-11 on the rear. I run a compact 50-34 on the front. do i need to buy a new 4600 gs rear mech or will my 4600ss cope with this range?
Hi,

With some adjustment it may be possible to use an 11-32T cassette with your SS cage derailleur, but replacing it with the longer GS cage would be recommended.

Thanks.
Will This Work With 9 Speed Cassette?

I have a worn tiagra 9 speed triple ... is this useable instead?
Hi,

Whilst this derailleur is technically usable with a 9 speed system it will have a slightly different arm reach which will make setting it up harder and may make it impossible to set up correctly at all.

Thanks.
