Strong, reliable magnetic connection for two wires.

Traditional friction-reliant mini spade and bullet connectors can bind, loosen, or fatigue and break with repeated use. Dyna-Snaps use smart design and powerful rare earth magnets to make low voltage wire connection reliable, fast and easy.

The contact surfaces couple firmly together without binding, yet connectors are easily separated by hand. They are durable, weatherproof and highly conductive.

For dual wire dynamo systems and other low voltage applications (fits 22 to 18 GA wire).

40 x 75 x 6 mm

Note: The use of Dyna-Snap Vinyl debris caps is highly recommended to protect the magnet faces from corrosion if you intend to use the connectors disconnected in damp conditions. A light smear of conductive grease will also help.

connection issues between spade and magnet

ConsIMO a design flaw between spade and magnet
ProsOnce installed, easy to use
When you crimp the spade, the connection between it and the magnet will easily break, causing a flickering or faulty connection.

This happened to me once, and I thought I was crimping it badly. I bought another set of these and the same thing happened.

This means, when the connection is faulty, you need to push and wriggle the now heatshrinked crimp to the magnet to make a connection.

Not re-assuring for a rear light when illumination at night is needed. I would replace, but am now on a tour.
Good but perhaps not for wet climates

ConsNot properly waterproofed leading to rust and failure
Prosvery easy to use once installed
They're a really neat solution and so simple to use once on the bike. But I have found that they're not properly waterproofed. And once water gets behind the shiny coating on the magnetic surfaces, rust starts. And once that happens, the electrical connection degrades. So your dynamo light starts to flicker and dim occasionally, unless you clean the rust off. And a week later - it flickers again.

Nice idea in a dry environment - but for the UK, no.

Dyna-snap for SON dyno hub
By
29 Mar 2022
I want this for my SON dyno hub, with the twin connector. I see that the 2-pack is out of stock. Can I use 2 x single pack dyna-snap, which are in stock, or is there a polarity issue? Thank you, Tom Butler
Polarity should not be an issue, the 2 pack is just two of the single connectors so you should be fine.
