If you are tyred of fiddling with the hinge clamp plates every time you fold your Brompton, then the solution is here. Brompfications Hinge Clamp Plates don't rotate when you turn the lever bolt - and make folding your bike easy and effortless.

This is our Hinge Clamp Set with Lever Bolts in titanium, the weight saving over the standard set is 20 grams.

The clamp plates is prevented from rotating when turning the lever bolt, by making the terminal on one side of the clamp plate a few millimetres longer. A spring is used to push the clamp plate out. In order to stop the lever bolt at the right position, it is secured in the flange with a locknut.

The set consist of 2 Hinge Clamp Plates and 2 Hinge Clamp Lever Bolts, and include 2 locknuts, washers and springs. All you need for the setup!

No problem with cutting the bolt!

ConsBolt is a **little** too long

ProsFast and easy hinge clamps.

around 3-4mm was cut off the tip of the bolt using a dremel-tool and a fiber cutoff wheel. Keeping the bolt cold and going SLOWLY worked perfectly! I put the included locknut all the way on, then take took it off and reversed it (really far back on) to prevent thread issues.

The official brompton "bike toolkit" that goes in the frame fits now, as previously the bolt would prevent it from fitting properly.

ConsCannot store Brompton toolkit

ProsFast clamping and secure

If locked at the proper bolt length, you can unclamp both hinges with 2.5 turns. No more fiddling with the clamps when trying to use the bike. You might want to put some grease on the thread for easy turning.

ProsEffective, faster to use

These clever clamps retain their closing alignment when the bike is unfolded. Mine take 2.5 turns of the lever to loosen enough for unfolding.

I even made mine work with a Brompton toolkit fitted by shortening the relevant bolt by 2.5 to 3 mm and using a shallow ti locknut from torontocycles.com

Is the clamp made out of titanium or just the handle?

I see that the handle is listed as being made of titanium, is the clamp also made of titanium? If not what is the clamp made out of?

How strong are the clamps? I have just had an ACEOFFIX aluminum clamp fail (I had been using it for about 2 years), fortunately it didn't happen whilst cycling as it would caused a nasty accident. For this same reason is there a "life" for how long you can use the clamp for before it needs replacing?

These are top quality, lifetime of years quite easily dependant on use.

The inner section of the plate, must not touch the frame, if it does, the plate is worn and needs replacing.

We have often found the ACEOFFIX items to be produced in lower quality materials.
