Another excelent terrefic value product from SJS. I was not sure why this lever and brake set was so much cheaper than similar items and was able to discuss with staff as always that yes this was suitable for my needs and I have been delighted. The ability to talk and confirm it would work with my Avid BB7 brakes and particular Ergon grips eased my mind that it was what I needed to change from drop bars to riser bars.

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

These brakes are designed for use with V-brakes so have the longer cable pull so will not be compatible with caliper of cantilever brakes.

Thanks.

I am upgrading my bike to 8 speed so need to purchase new STI levers preferably Shimano. Are these levers compatible with cantilever brakes
Thanks
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

I'm afraid not no, these levers are designed around v-brakes which have a different cable pull than cantilever brakes.

Thanks.
