Excellent product. Easy to fit even without instruction sheet (can obtain this from Shimano website if required). Optical gear display very good for triple chainwheel and more useful than I thought it would be for 9 speed cassette.

I recommend this product
delivery time was good enough to mean iwas only off the road mon to thursday including finding a shop to install them. notched up about 400 miles so far , working well , no problems . the soras they replaced broke after 3000 miles , abit of plastic broke on them and needed supergluing after 1500 miles , hoping these will be better. so far so good.

Cables

Do these have hidden gear cables (as well as brake cable) ??
I see no exit bit sticking out from the side of the lever as with my current set
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

The gear cables are routed straight out of the side of the shifter, they are not hidden so do stick out. The reason it is hard to see this is because the watermark is unfortunately covering the exit point on the left hand shifter.

Thanks.
Are These Sti Levers Compatible With Any 9 Sp Deraills ?

Can they be interfaced with any Shimano 9 speed derailleurs (eg Deore XL front and rear derailleurs) or are they intended to be used only with Tiagra front and rear road derailleurs ?

Thanks.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

You'll need to stick to road derailleurs. It will be compatible with any of Shimano's road derailleurs.

Thanks.
