I put these under Brooks leather bar tape because people have said the leather tape can still be a bit harsh. I've no complaints and don't wear padded gloves. The gel pads do not affect the shape of the bars so you would notice

They do exactly what they say on the tin. This is the second set I've bought and wouldn't have a conventional set of racing handlebars without putting this stuff on.
The vibration damping really is superb and you can spend a lot of money on your bike without making such an obvious improvement as this.
However, there is one problem. Isn't there always! I left my bike in an outside shed over winter and came to use it again now it is warm. The stuff burst through the handlebar tape tearing it in doing so. The stuff was usuable and that is how I came to have to buy the second set!
