AHS (Adjustable Handlebar System) - "Create your own cockpit"

The multiposition handlebar system is probably the most variable modular system since bicycle handlebars were invented. You can now design your handlebars to your own individual requirements, selecting among a range of variations, diverse grips and accessories. The central section and handlebar ends can be adjusted independently, enabling optimum adjustment to the required grip and seating position, from relaxed to sporting. The handlebar ends are removable and enable rotating grips to be mounted. The ability to fold the handlebar ends inwards makes transport easier and saves space when you park your bike.

This product is rated to Humpert’s safety level of 2. This means it is suitable only for use on hybrid/trekking bikes that have a combined rider and luggage weight of below 100kg.

Very nice bars

I recommend this product
ConsThe standard foam grip feels flimsy
ProsSolid and versatile
These are very well made and feel nice and solid. It was easy to install them and set them up. I don’t think I could have achieved the riding position that I got with these with any other bars. The foam seems like it’ll wear out quickly so I’ll be replacing that with the Humpert grip upgrade at some point.

Consnone that are important
ProsComfort, adjustability
Easy to assemble but the packaging or other advice does not make it clear that you need an allen key with a long shaft to tighten the bar ends.
Very comfortable and has reduced strain on shoulders and numbness in hands.
Very useful for working with cyclists with special needs.
The folding function is useful for those living in flats or transporting by car or train.
I have had to buy anextension unit to fit my ortlieb bar bag and there is less room on the handlebars to fit gps, bell, etc

Prosmulti hand positions, extremely adjustable, very comfortable,
Brilliant! Much more comfortable, I have adjusted mine so I can sit upright or lean slightly forward as with normal bars. I am considering another set for my other bike.

ConsNone other than the extra weight but they are like Brooks saddles, woth the weight
Prosmulti hand positions, extremely adjustable, very comfortable,
These were a bit expensive but worth every cent of it. I switched from dropped bars to these on my touring bike. The ability to adjust not only the bar ends but the angle of the bar itself has made a huge difference in the comfort on long rides. I would highly recommend these to others. Plus they look sharp.

About the next most worthwhile item on a bike to the chain.!
After fine tuning these Bars eliminated fatigue in my hands over long cycling periods. Superb quality German engineering . I have Shimano XTR levers & shifters which fitted easily and the entire set up looks great.
If there is a slight downside extra weight is being added to the bike.

Ortlieb Bar Bag compatibility
By
02 Aug 2019
Further to Anonymous' question, if there's room on the steerer tube, could a Thorn Accessory Bar or similar be used with the existing Ortlieb mount instead of the Klick-fix luggage holder?
Hi, yes I can't see why not. Thanks 07/08/19
Ortlieb Ultimate Pro E Bar Bag compatibility?
By
13 Apr 2019
I have the Ortlieb Ultimate Pro E Bar Bag (SJS Cycles part number 43068). Would I be able to mount it on these bars?

As a general rule, I know you recommend the Humpert Klick-Fix Luggage Holder (SJS Cycles part number 24417), for Ortlieb bar bags with these Humpert adjustable bars, but the problem is the Ultimate Pro E bar bag that I own has the electrical connections built into the mount, which the klick and fix luggage holder does not. Is there any solution to use my bar bag with these Humpert adjustable handlebars?

I really do like the look of these adjustable bars, but my purchase is conditional on being able to mount my Ultimate Pro E Bar Bag. Is there any way to do this?
Hi there,

Unfortunately, due to the nature of these handlebars, it's hard to find a mount that will be suitable I'm afraid so at this moment in time, we would not have anything suitable.

Thanks.

Fitting Of Pinion Gear Control?
By
12 Apr 2017
Would there be any problem fitting the gear-twister for a Pinion gearbox to these bars? (It's similar to the Rohloff changer)?
Hi,

Providing your shifter is designed to fit to standard handlebars that are 22.2mm in diameter then this should be fine.

Thanks.

How Do You Fold These Up?
By
24 Mar 2015
Do you need a tool (allen wrench) to fold these up? OR isita push button release to fold and unfold?

Thank you!
Hi,

A 4mm allen key is required to fold these up. There are two bolts per side that need to be loosened off to allow movement.

Thanks.
How Do I Fit Light, Mirror, Gps Etc To This Handlebar?
By
09 Mar 2015
Hi,

There is a small amount of additional space on the handlebars next to where the controls would mount, but if you wanted to run a large number of things you would have to use some form or accessory bar to gain you extra space.

Thanks.
Ortlieb 5 Handlebar Bag Compatibility
By
25 Apr 2014
Can you fit an Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Handlebar bag on it?

If not, what other options we have?
Thanks
Hi,

Yes you will be able to fit an Ortlieb bar bag, but you will need a special fixing bracket. There is a click-fix fitting bracket designed specifically for the Humpert handlebars which will fit the Ortlieb bar bags. The fitting bracket is SJSC part number 24417.

Thanks.
