These items have been removed from brand new bicycles that have not been ridden.

They are functionally perfect but have cosmetic imperfections such as;

Small scratches
Marks from fitting / removal
Slight discolouring from dust storage / dust / grease

Just the right height for me

I recommend this product

Yes, it does fit a 1997 Brompton. The (ancient) gear and brake cables needed replacing anyway, so I did this too.
Height is approx 50mm lower than the original 1997 bars and approx 75mm higher than the straight bars which I have been using since 1998. The shop-soiled price reduction reduced the risk of something NOT working/fitting.

Old m to new low m -cables?

Hi,

Switching from old high rise m to new low rise m - would I need to do anything to the cables?

SJS Customer Service:

If you do not change / shorten the cables, they will be very baggy. The new M type cables will not really be much better as the new M type stem is longer as the bars get lower.
