Anodised Alloy end cover and nut with Cr-Mo threaded rod using an Allen type Hex key fitting. Lightweight, sleek and an ideal upgrade for improved security - as there's no QR lever. The "Nut" features a steel Halo "no-turn" tab, making doing up these Skewers and releasing them a lot easier than trying to hold the nut from spinning at the time.

Size:
- Front: (100mm); up to 6.0mm thick dropouts
- Rear: (135mm); up to 6.5mm thick dropouts

I recommend this product
Replaced cheap Sram QRs that came with hubs and it stopped my wheel from moving in dropouts ever so slightly when braking harder than I should. Also gives your bike way cleaner look. Glad I snagged last purple pair!

ConsAny hex key will open it
ProsSimple deterrent, no special key to lose
I bought these because my front low rider pannier rack was fouling the quick release. It sorted that problem, but it also stops the issue of having your front wheel nicked! It won't stop a determined thief (little will) but it does give you confidence that the wheel will still be attached when you get back to your bike, yet you wont be stuffed as there is no "special removal key" to lose!
Great light weight replacement for q/r skewers

ConsSteel rod just like regular q/r
ProsLight weight. Secure.
I am a big fan of these skewer. They save 100-120 grams over a set of Shimano Q/R skewers and they make it a little bit less likely that somebody will pinch your wheels. The no rotation tab is a good idea and makes them easier to fit.

Proswork
Used as replacement for standard quick release skewers to give some improved security. Fits my ridgeback velocity 2010, just. rear skewer is about 2 mm short of being flush (within the 3mm tolerance specified in the instructions) and the front has about 3mm of the skewer poking out of the nut. Does exactly as needed.

Consdelicate
Prossmart, light, small
Neat appearance, less bulky and probably lighter than standard skewers, even counting in the 5 mm Allen key needed. Does what I wanted them for: replace stock skewers on a touring and commuting bike. Not very high security, but stops passersby messing with your wheels. Makes it easier to remove the front wheel if lowrider racks get in the way. Take care not to over tighten the steel skewer in its aluminium alloy nut.

Are these compatible with the Hexlox inserts ?
By
25 Jun 2022
We have not tested this to confirm for 100% but as they use 5mm keys it should work.

Exact skewer diameter?
By
06 Jan 2021
Hi, I have a Shimano Exage FH-HG50 rear hub with a worn 5mm skewer (I'm looking to replace the skewer as the allen key slot has worn into a circle). Will these skewers fit my hub? I believe 6mm will be too tight. Thanks
Hi, they are 5mm in diameter.

Hello, as we are not a Trek dealer we cannot confirm this. I would assume not as BOOST spacing is 148mm.

Using on front of Thorn Raven Twin
By
17 Oct 2019
We purchased a Raven Twin in 2018. Invoice says "Item Number: 41877: Thorn Tandem V Forks - Pure Orange Imron" I believe the outside-outside distance of the front fork is 115 mm. Will either of the skewers listed here work for that? If the rear, longer ones, do we just cut off the excess?
The standard for 100mm front skewer will be suitable.

Thanks - 21/10/19
Can I use these with a turbo trainer?
By
24 Sep 2018
…instead of the supplied turbo trainer QR skewer?
We would not recommend it as they are pretty small and low profile so will not give the turbo anything to grip to, the turbo skewer is specifically designed to fit properly and be safe.

Thanks

Hello. Will This Fit A B'Twin Rockrider 520 - 2016 with 27.5 Wheels? What Is The Price Of Sending To Portugal?
Thanks
Hi,

From the information I can find of your bike online it looks as though it uses standard quick release axles meaning that these skewers will be absolutely fine for use with your bike.

Thanks.
