Lightweight Cr-Mo threaded rod with an hex key fitting and coloured alloy end covers.

The absence of any lever means these skewers offer improved security and reduced weight over a traditional QR skewer.

Features a steel ‘no-turn tab’ to prevent the end cone from rotating whilst doing up or removing. There’s also a 15 x 3mm cone spanner recess cut into nut, just in case the ‘no-turn’ tab cannot operate.

Maximum width skewers can be used with:

Front 122mm – (100mm hub width, plus 11mm dropout either side)
Rear 155mm – (135mm hub width, plus 10mm dropout either side)

Important information: Not recommended for aggressive off road use.

I bought these XL version for a cargo bike (Benno Boost) as i wanted to remove the quick release one.

Yes, they aren't locking ones but offer some protection as a 5mm hex key is needed.

They are longer than standard and fit well. If they are too long it's a few moments to cut through the protruding part of the skewer with a hacksaw so you have a tidy fit.

Only for super thick dropouts

ProsWell made, very light

I bought a pair of these in error. They are far too wide for my MTB. Fortunately the thread goes quite far along the skewer so I was able to cut the excess off (10mm from the rear, something like 30mm from the front). Suggest ordering the non-XL set unless you have REALLY REALLY thick dropouts.
Otherwise I am 100% happy with the skewers. Weight saving of 100g from a pair of steel Shimano QR skewers and a slight improvement in wheel security when I chain my bike up at the railway station.

Fitted the front axle skewer. It fits and clamps the wheel in place.

The thread of the bolt extends somewhat significantly past the nut. I will probably cut the thread down so that it is flush with the outer edge of the nut. Obviously, this depends on the size of your fork dropout.

Are These The Correct Size For My Bike?

What does the 100mm and 135mm refer to? Is it the gap in the frame/forks that the wheels fit between or is it the total skewer length? These don't look 11mm or even 10mm thick either... I'm a bit baffled. I need to replace the QR skewers on my mountain bike.

Hi,

The 100mm and 135mm refer to the dropout spacing's, so yes, the gap between your frame/forks. The 11mm and 10mm is the maximum thickness of the frame/fork material at the dropout that is allowed to be used with these. These are quite thick dropouts hence why these are considered XL.
