Bought a bike second hand and only realized after buying a new cassette that the previous owner had changed the rear wheel and it's a DT Swiss with XD freehub body.

How to identify 406 and 506 freehub?

How do you identify 406 or 506 freehubs? Is there a dimension which is different because there are no markings on the freehub body except the stamp ‘0c’?

Usually there is a dimensional difference, or a manufacturing feature that makes these two parts incompatible.

Also have removed all other parts spindle, cassette etc but the free wheel will not come off.

Are all the splines (that connect to the cassette) of equal width, or is there one narrower 'Hyperglide' style spline for cassette fitting?

Hi, we can't be sure, there is very little information available about the Carreiro Hellcat specification. It is possible that you have a Formula DC22 rear hub but which freehub body is unclear. Thanks 27/04/2020

I stripped the bike in question down and removed the freehub body- it looks like the one in your picture. Could you verify this please? Sram XS groupset fitted, disc hub. No names anywhere on the hub, or freehub many thanks!

Hi, I can't confirm which freehub you need as we don't have enough detail on the spec of your bike. However if you think it looks similar it might be worth a try, you can always return it if it doesn't fit. Thanks 14/04/2020

Hi, there is very limited information available on the wheels fitted to your Carrera titan ltd 2014 so I am unable to say for sure that it will fit. You could buy it and compare your old one with the new one before attempting to fit it. You are only wasting the postage if it's not right and you have to sent it back. Thanks 09/04/2020

My 2017 Boardman hybrid pro with (1x11) XD driver free hub. I want to know if I can replace it with this so I can fit Shimano cassette ( less expensive than 10-42 Sram cassette) Is this & the XD driver hub interface the same ? I think the rear hub is Formula

Dimensions plus bearings?

I have an unbranded freehub on a Triban 500SE road bike which needs replacing, vast majority of freehub styles have a completely different attachment interface to the wheel, but this looks like it would do the trick. What are the dimensions of the spline interface? And are the bearings cartridge or loose? Cheers

Hi there,

the interface dimenions are - OD - 25mm, depth 6.3mm, outer ring of spline OD -27.9mmx2.5mm, body outer OD - 36.4mm. body depth - 39.7mm.

The bearings are cup and cone.

I am using Trek Domane 2 series with tiagra 10 speed I have removed the free hub and it looks as tho it will fit is there a way of confirming there are no numbers on the free hub but I have measurement and some picture ??

If the fittings definitely look the same then it may be okay but as this freehub is specifically for the Sram 506 hub then this is all we can really recommend it is for.
