Parts For Xrf5
02 Nov 2014
Have bought an used xrf5 for a bike i am building up, and I cannot engage 1st gear. If anything, 1st feels like a 5th gear with resistance. Have stripped hub and not found obvious breakage. Have refitted and although hub is smoother, the is still no 1st gear. Have read that part hsa663 caused problem on other 5 speed hubs : is it the same part on the early xrf5? I would also like to replace the pawl spring that sits below the driver assembly. These pawls and spring are not shown on the only drawing I can find, which is the xrd5 (w) parts list. Thanks
SJS Customer Service:

All X-RF5 hubs should share the same internal construction regardless of the age, so any problems other people have been experiencing could well be the cause of your issues. All of the parts used in the internal gear assembly of the X-RD5 and X-RF5 are the same, so any spare parts that are available for the X-RF5 should be on the tech doc for the X-RD5.
