Quotation for wheel build
By
16 Nov 2020
Hi
Please could you email me a quote for a Rohloff wheel build with Mavic A719 700c 622 rims and a Jtek dynamo hub?
Thanks
Mark

Exact Rohlof for Mercury?
By
03 Feb 2018
Is this the correct hub for the Mercury frame, with the torque stop that fits into the drop out. Also the pic shows the older version, not the lazer etched. I would want an up to date version if I have this.
Hi

Your best option would be to contact our dedicated Thorn Bikes sales team, you can either do this on the phone on 01278 441505 or email them at [email protected], they will be more than happy to answer an questions that you may have.

Thanks
Available Also With Solid Axle?
By
03 May 2017
Hi,
Do you offer also the TS version with solid axle? I intend to mount it on a frame with horizontal dropouts and there are many reports of the hub slipping under high load when using the quick release version.
Thanks.
Hello,

We do stock a TS version of this hub at item #11252.

Thanks.
What'S Really Included?

Does this hub come with the handle-bar shifter, cables, and oil? What about a chain tensioner and OEM2 mount plate?
Hi,

This hub includes some of those parts including the shifter, cables and oil. There is no chain tensioner supplied and the supplied axle plate is the aftermarket to OEM axle plate and not the OEM2 plate.

Thanks.
36 Hole Rohlof

Hi Do You Build Wheel Around Rohloff 36 Hole? I Can Not See That Option Available On The Web, What I Am Looking For Is a Rigida Andra 30 26" , 559 MTB CSS Rim - Rohloff Drilling - Black - 36 Hole built around a Rohloff 36 hole black speed hub.
Hi,

If you already have a 36H Rohloff then we can build up this for you. The standard 36H Andra CSS rim will work with a Rohloff, it does need need specially drilling like the 32H version. If you have not yet purchased the hub, then we would still recommend going for the 32H version as this is still stronger than any standard wheels. We fit the 32H option to our heavy duty tandems without any issues.

Thanks.
How Easy Is It To Upgrade From Alfine 11To Rohloff?
By
24 Jun 2014
I currently run a bike with a Shimano Alfine 11 hub gear, which I've partially shredded, so I am considering upgrading to a Rohloff rather than replace the Alfine. Clearly I will need to replace the shifters, but is there anything else I need to consider (e.g. the Rohloff uses 2 gear cables instead of 1 easy to accommodate?). Also, I have Shimano Alfine disk brakes, would I need to replace any of those parts (e.g. rotors)? Thanks in advance
Hi,

Unfortunately with the Rohloff it's not straight forward, as well as the addition of a gear cable it also has some unique fittings, that quite often on non-Rohloff specific bikes require additional fittings like a tension arm. For full details on what will be required please email [email protected] and they will be able to provide you with a range of in depth knowledge. The rotors definitely would need to be changed though as the Rohloff hubs use a 4 bolt fixing rather than the conventional types that use either a 6 bolt fitting or Shimano's centre-lock system.

Thanks.
