I recommend this product
ConsMay need longer caliper brake mount bolt.
ProsGood stable mount despite extended length.
Long version moves longer headlight forward enough to clear Campag Ergo cables. Stable in use. Note the long version is very similar to the long B&M headlight mount.

Can I use this with a Herrmans H-Ike light?
By

I need to replace the mounting bracket for a Herrmans H-Ike light. The standard bracket breaks easily...need something stronger. Will this work?
Not something we have tested, looking at photos online, looks highly possible.

If you light fitting section is wider, you can bend these mounts wider.

Please the 36 x 50 and 58 x 49 be defined relative to the bracket shown in the picture e.g. if we have Xmm x Ymm then what is X (between which 2 points shown) and which is Y ?
the 1st number is the forward reach, the second number is the rise, I've now changed te description to read:

or 58mm (forward extension) x 49mm (height)

I have an Edelux I that I've just fitted on my Genesis CDF. I'm using the standard bracket that it came with - the shorter of the 2 advertised here I think. The problem is, that the top of the light isn't quite clearing the brake/gear cables that curve round from the handlebars. Hence the cabling often catches the switch and toggles it off! So what I'm after is a bracket that protrudes further forwards by about 5 - 10mm. Any suggestions for a bracket that could solve this as I want to avoid cutting back my cable housing ?
Option one, bend the mount you currently have.
Option two, use - SJS Cycles part number : 21403B

This is dependant on the needs and fitting on your bike, each bike is different to where you would like the light to sit.

Have got a means of attaching this wire bracket to a bike that has no drilling in the fork crown?
I have space on the front of a Jones Loop bar but cant see a bracket that would do what I want.
Hi,

If you are unable to attach the light at the fork crown then the easiest way of fitting would be to the handlebars. Schmidt produce three different brackets from a basic one which is SJSC part 9884 to two milled brackets which are SJSC parts 40399 and 23929.

Thanks.
Bracket For B&M Luxos U Dynamo Headlight
By
06 Dec 2014
Hello,

I use a B&M Luxos U Dynamo Headlight, purchased in 2013. The bracket that came with it looks very similar to your "Schmidt Headlight Bracket For Edelux". Vertically, it's a total of 50mm tall (20mm straight up, then projection of the bent section adds another 30mm). Horizontally, the projection of the bent section is 45mm.

My front fender obstructs the lower portion of the beam. Can you recommend a taller bracket (ideally a total of 80mm tall)? I have plenty of headroom, because I don't use a handlebar bag.

By the way, could you explain the measurements of your "Schmidt Headlight Bracket For Edelux"? i.e. 30x50 & 49x58 refer to which dimensions?

Thanks,

Moe
Hi,

The fitting of the Schmidt bracket would be the same as for your B&M light so it could be used with your light. The dimensions refer to the overall height of the bracket and the forward reach of the bracket. The longest brackets we have still only reach a total height of 60mm so this Schmidt one with a height of 58mm would be one of the highest and one of the best we'd be able to offer.

Thanks.
