With a brand-new IQ Tec P mirror from the specialists at Busch and Muller the new Edelux 2 leaves the older model literally in the shadows. The light field is twice as wide and focused mainly in the distance, putting most of the light further down the road allowing you to better assess whats coming, whilst still not leaving a 'dim' patch infront of the rider.

- Watertight 6082 T6 aluminium housing
- Standlight & Senso

Horrible to set up.

ConsHorrible to install, useless connectors
ProsGood light
The connectors that come with this light are the worst I have seen. Everything is so fiddly. Order lots of spare connectors as you are bound to break a few and drop and loose them. It’s good when it’s up and running but I would get somebody else to set it up. If you don’t know what you need to set up a Dynamo system, I would order well in advance, SJS have bad advice and I ended up returning one of the parts as it wasn’t right, bad advice given in the first instance by them.

I recommend this product
ConsNone
ProsConstruction, quality beam pattern
I bought this having used B&M products happily for years. However I managed to damage my B&M light and snao it clean from the bracket so I wanted a light with an all metal construction.

The finish and detail on this light is really nice. I especially like how the terminal connector is tucked up in the light rather than 2 x loose wires hanging down like on my B&M.

I find the beam pattern really pleasant room throw is probably not quite as good as a Luxus U but it's barely enough to be worth mentioning and I think them beam pattern on the edelux is far more pleasant.

Was happy descending pot hole country roads at night enthusiastically. Also compatible with my b&m rear light which is a bonus.

I recommend this product
ConsInitial purchase expensive
ProsBright, reliable, ease of connection, durability, long term value
Edelux 2 - bomb proof construction and bright beam - quite wide and certainly wider than the the previous version. It now lights up the side of the road much more and is more than adequate for use on country lanes. The connection block is much easier to use than individual spades. Last one lasted 8 years / 70000 miles - and only swapped out as became unreliable on the very worst of long day rides when some water ingress, probably though rear lamp connection, shorted the internals temporarily. Expensive initially but over the time period well worth the investment for trouble free and 'always there' lighting

Does this go out when stationary or is there a capacitor/battery to keep it on at junctions?
By

There is a stand light mode that keeps it on once the capacitor is charged.

Connecting to a Sinewave Revolution
By
23 Jan 2022
How would I connect in a Sinewave Revolution into this set up? Or do I need a different cable? I’m used to having the Luxor U which manages the light and charging, I’m assuming this does not work like that?
Hi, please email [email protected] so I can ping across a wiring diagram to assist you with this.

Does the rear light work when the switch is off?
By
10 Jan 2022
Wanting to know if I can run a rear light off the rear light connection whilst the front light is switched off or on automatic mode.
The stitch operates both but doesn't cancel the stand light out.

Rear light connection
By
17 Oct 2021
There is a note in the description which reads - Discreet rear light connection if required. Does this light have a takeoff for a rear light? Can I attach a supernova e3 along with this light?
This does have connections but Supernova rear lights are not compatible with SON front lights.

Does the coaxial adapter come ready fitted or does this require me to get the soldering iron out?
By

On the 60cm cable, the Coaxial Adapter is fitted- however, the 100cm one is not.

Is the coaxial adapter available as a separate purchase?
By

Hi
There are two options available:

Item #46595 - SON Coaxial Adapter w/ Male Connection
Item #48219 - SON Coaxial Adapter w/o Connector

I hope this helps.

Do you know if the connector is compatible with SP (shutter precision) PD-8 connectors
By

Unfortunately this is only compatible with SON hubs with the two prongs.

On/Off Switch?
By
04 Oct 2018
Does this have an on/off switch?
I want to be able to run a usb powered battery pack on my bike and have read that the best way to do this is to piggyback the connectors and turn the light off when I want to charge my USB, and turn it on to draw the power for the light. Is this the case?
Yes this light has an on/off switch.
