Question About Brompton Son Dynamo Kit
By
07 Dec 2015
Hi there,

I am interested in the Brompton SON Hub Dynamo (w/ Front wheel) kit and had a few questions: Does this kit come with instructions? What tools are necessary for installation? Would you recommend that someone relatively inexperienced with working on bikes have this installed at a shop? Does the headlight attach by the mount or the handlebars?

Thank you for your help!
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

The kit does indeed come with a quite good set of instructions that should be able to guide most people through the fitting process. The only tools required will be a few different sized allen keys, a few different size spanners (a small adjustable spanner could be used) and a pair of cable cutters or scissors to trim the excess off of the cable ties. We'd recommend having a good read of the Instructions before you attempt to fit any of it and if it all seems clear then you should be absolutely fine, if there are a few parts you are unsure about then we can offer some advice over the phone, if there is a larger part then we'd recommend taking to a local bike shop. The headlight attaches to the fork crown via the brake bolt, the same place your front reflector is currently fitted.

Thanks.
