The new Lumotec Eyc with IQ2 technology is very compact and light at 70g. It has 50 lux output and an excellent homogenous lighting of the road. The DRL (day light running) is switched on and off automatically by a light sensor. Supplied with a stainless steel bracket and clip on reflector. Approved by German road traffic regulations.

- Light at close range facility

- 50 lux output

Please note this light has no connectors for fitting with a rear light so can only be used on its own.

ConsI prefer a more old fashioned look, but function trumps form in this case.
ProsWorks very well.
Only bought this because I ham fistedly managed to break my previous Lumotec Lyt, but it's literally brilliant. It lights up even when I'm just pushing the bike through my gate, and gives a fantastic spread of light even mounted down on the fork leg. I suspect it would be even better mounted up near the handlebar. The button to turn off the standlight is a nice touch, so you can leave it parked without drawing attention from ne'er-do-well types. For thirty quid it's an absolute winner.
A Revelation!

What a fantastic light. Miniscule but with a full beam good enough for all but the most demanding high speed unlit use. And combined with a Toplight Flat S rear dynamo light a perfect setup. In use with a Nordlicht 2000 bottle dynamo they are both bright from a mere walking pace. As the electrical load is about half of that from my old Halogen lights the bottle dynamo spins up beautifully smoothly and with no hint at all of slippage even in the worst wet and mud. In my opinion these led lights make the bottle dynamo a really good option now. Much lighter (if you are bothered by weight), a fraction of the cost and can be completely disengaged giving to my mind a really viable alternative to hub generators if you just want to power lights when they are needed. And there is ample power left over if you did want to charge phones etc occasionally. I have used the Eyc as a daytime running light in darker conditions and there is no doubt it is working in rain and traffic. I also like not having an on off switch apart from the ability to switch off the standlight as I have had switches fail on halogen lights so like the fact there is none!
