This battery light has LineTec technology incorporated into its compact design. It has two high power LEDs inside the 90mm LineTec light strip. Please note the strip is made from transparent glass that shines red when the light is in use. This light is super bright with 320 degree visibility. It is supplied with a standlight that automatically deactivates after four minutes or can be switched off manually. Weighing in at only 53g it is very slim in design - 94 x 45 x 16.5mm and has an integrated large Z reflector.

LineTec is a very clever concept developed by B&M. Before LineTec cars approaching a bicycle from behind could only see a single rear light spot without being able to judge the distance very accurately. To judge distance the human eye requires spacial relation - especially in 'spaceless' darkness. B&Ms lights with the LineTec light strip emit 'spatial' light. With LineTec other road users can estimate the distance to a cyclist much more accurately.

- Weight: 53g

I recommend this product
Bought this in error to replace dynamo version damaged in an accident. This version is a lot of money for what it is - a simple on/off battery light. Good light quality for sure, but does that justify the price?

ProsBright, long lasting, well built 1x AA battery light.
Must have rear light to mount on a carrier. Well built. It uses just one AA battery so running time per battery is high compared to 2x AAA blinking lights.

ConsWould be better if supplied with 80 mm width fitting too
ProsWell made, visible and durable
I bought this battery version for use with AA rechargeables. Very bright and visible in use and has a large reflector. It seems well made and I expect it to last. Please note the standard bolt spacing on the one supplied is 50 mm and I think you need an adaptor for an 80 mm fitting.

how to access the battery?
19 Jul 2018
Do you need to remove the light from the pannier rack to access the AA battery compartment, or can you do it bolted in place?
Hi there,

There are two lever type shapes sticking out forward from the side of the light. You need to push these outwards and the battery compartment will pop out with a little encouragement.

Top clearance for rack accessories

Could you tell me the distance from the bolts to the highest point on the lamp? I'm trying to ascertain if the lamp would be clear of any Topeak MTX accessories that slide on to Topeak racks.

The distance from the bolts to the highest points is approximately 25mm.

longer ones. I have a narrow rack top (Tubus Disco ) and will need to mount the light further back to avoid the panniers.

Unfortunately it would not be easy to dismantle this light, to change the length of the bolts. Attempting to dismantle it could cause irreversible damage to the light.

Is This Light Really For 50 Mm Racks?
29 Sep 2014
From the photo the spacing looks like 80mm rather than 50mm as stated. Please can you confirm it is actually 50mm as that's what I need for my tubus, thanks.

Yes this is definitely the 50mm version, we check all of these particular lights upon receipt to make sure.

Is It Possible To Mount This Light On A Seatpost?
10 Sep 2014
Is it possible to mount this light on a seatpost using some additional mounting bits that you can supply?

Yes, it is not neat, but it is possible. You can fit the light to another bracket made by Bush and Muller SJSC part number 1964, this takes it too a single bolt fitting at 90 degrees to the light. This opens up the options for mount places as you could even mount it directly to any bosses on the frame. To mount this to a seatpost you can use one of Cat Eye's SP series of rear light brackets, just choose the correct size for your seatpost. You may need to fit a serrated washer when fitting these together as a heavy knock may cause the light to slip and move position.
