I recommend this product
ConsLimited visibility for other road users
ProsGood view of road surface
This light is a great option for lighting the road surface. I use my Brompton in unlit rural areas and this light is a much better solution for actually seeing the road than handlebar mounted lights, which are affected by a heavily packed front bag. Suspect it has very little visibility to other road users - I feel I need to invest in some small front flashing lights to correct that.
Expensive way to buy a bracket - suspect many other cateye lamps would fit

Any difference compared to the original Volt 400?
24 May 2019
Is there any notable difference compared to the Cateye's original Volt 400 model ( other than the look of the light?
I am wondering if the functionality and durability (weather resistance) would be the same between the two.
This is the Volt400XC produced for Brompton -

To clarify my last question
19 Jun 2018
Will the Volt 400 light clear the Brompton mounting block when attached as it doesn't with the Cateye bracket?
Fitting this will not impede the FCB in anyway, its produced by Brompton for use with all of the bag options on the FCB.

Will this bracket work with the front mounting block on the brompton
19 Jun 2018
i.e. is this the brompton bracket, or the cateye bracket?
Hi there,

This light / bracket fits on the bake mounting and not on the FCB.
