You have to cut the old ones off and these clip on easily and securely. BUT you cannot tighten the straps because there's no middle bar - which is a serious oversight

My mistake - I bought these to tighten the main pannier body strap but realised they are the ones for the roll top!
As there is no tightening option in the male bit these will not work.

I needed replacement buckles for my Brompton O bag. You have to cut off the old ones but these ones are satisfactory replacements.

I've had my Ortlieb panniers for several years. The buckles on the side both broke. These work perfectly.

Make sure you are looking for the right buckle, here the ability to zoom in on the image helped a lot.

And if you can't figure out how to remove the old buckles - neither could I, till someone suggested a hammer :-)

The Stealth buckles are pretty poor compared to the older types, because they are so fragile. In time all the buckles on our Office panniers started breaking. These replacements were just the ticket, cheap, easy to fit and gave our panniers a new lease of life.

Slowly building up important spares for a longer more remote cycle tour. These may not be required but I had read at least one tour blog where a bag buckle had snapped and these were recommended so you don't get stuck! Light and compact to carry for peace of mind though I have not had any problems with the original Ortlieb buckles to date.

Great replacement buckles for my city panniers, both of which had broken. Easy to replace, just cuto off the old ones and snap the new ones closed. The quick snap of the replacement buckles seems robust. Hopefully they will last as long as the original ones.

Bought these to replace broken clip arm on top Ortlieb pannier strap. Clip had lasted over 4 years with daily use (work commute).
Having replace one clip (pretty straight forward), the other top pannier strap clip arm broke as well. Good job 2 buckles were in packet :) May consider ordering spares for larger Ortlieb straps in case they give up too.
Buckle excellent fit for previous, only drawback is no middle bar to thread strap round.

Same experience as Steve H. We got these shipped all the way to Kyrgyzstan, only to find that while doubtless useful on roll top panniers and drybag, they are useless with Ortlieb's more traditional designs as there's no way to cinch up the lid straps when these are fitted.

Like all Ortleib products it is well designed and it’s great you can repair the pannier in this way. But I do think the company is poor at supplying information online. This part is fine for the pannier carrier strap, but won’t work for the rollover tightening strap because you can’t put tension into it! For that, I eventually found out, you need part number is OE178. It comes with a webbing strap which you can just cut off
