Poor quality rear bridge

ConsVery poor plastic rear bridge. Difficult to fit. Insufficient clearance for 25mm tyres.
ProsCheap. Will fit on road bikes with limited clearances.
I found when fitting these to my winter bike running 25mm width tyres that the very flimsy plastic bridge for the rear mudguard would not clear the tyre. I had to use a metal bridge salvaged from my old SKS mudguards.
I still haven't managed to get the guards to fit centrally over the wheel, be prepared to spend a lot of time fiddling with them.
Once fitted they do the job and to my surprise do not rattle, even on the appalling road surfaces I have to ride on.

Are there the big or small mudguards? Thanks

These are available only in one size to fit 700x28 tyres. SK 22/03/24
What are the external widths of these mudguards?

I have an old Ridgeback Genesis Day 02 which measures approx 36mm front (between fork legs) and 40mm rear (between stays) running 25mm tyres. Will these fit/what is the width at their widest point?

Thank you for any help with this.
Hello, we would suggest using mudguards of 28mm wide- this should fit between the forks and stays and provide excellent coverage of the tyre- allowing for some futureproofing should you wish to fit slightly wider tyres in future. Please note this is only our best guess on fitting, and without having your bike here in stock we cannot guarantee compatibility.

Can these be used with frames that have no mudguard eyes?

I have an old 531 Professional frame which I want to use for commuting and was wondering if these would be suitable. I use 700c x 25 tyres.
Hi,

unfortunately, these require mudguard eyes on your frame and fork to fit.
Suitable for close clearance frames?

Are these suitable for close clearance frames and do they require deep drop brakes? thanks
Hi there,

99% of mudguards are very close with road calipers, this generally does not change much with long drop. You may find dropping to the next smallest tyre size helps clearance.

Thanks
