ProsTough, strong rim

Bought a pair of these (32h with Tiagra Hubs) after chatting with staff via email - very straightforward to order, plenty of choice of hubs to suit your budget. Wheels are well put together by sjs. Have ridden 945km with them since late March and are still perfect, great for the pothole ridden roads we have using 35mm tyres but can go as low as 28mm and upto 47mm, great off road with a wider tyre. Wheelset weight with Tiagra Hubs/skewers and rim tape is 2226g, so not the lightest but perfect for my needs in mixed surface riding and extremely durable.

ProsVery strong, with wear indicator

I choose these for my Thorn Club Tour purchased in 2007. It has done 12,000 miles over rough roads and bridle paths with a 16 stone rider and has taken everything that has been thrown at it. I'm just about to order a replacement wheel with another A719 on it.

Is the Mavic A719 available in a 27.5 inch and disc brake version

Sadly the A719 is 700c and rim brake only, you might try the XM 119, part number #59962. SK 19/01/24

Do you know if this rim is identical to the ten year old A719 rims I have on my wheels now. Just wondering if I can reuse the spokes. Thanks.

Hi,

Th A719 rim has definitely been updated more than once in that time frame and unfortunately I don't know if the ERD changed in that time. However we would always recommend fitting new spokes when re-building a wheel (especially as the current spokes are 10 years old) as re-using the old spokes can seriously weaken them.

Unfortunately this rim is no longer made in a 40H drilling. We don't have any 700c rims in a 40H drilling I'm afraid.
