ConsCan't think of any
ProsBuilds up well. Remains strong and true.
I'd heard good reviews of the Rigida Chrina rim from touring forums and decided to build a set of 36 hole 10 speed campag hubs onto a pair of these rims last November [2010]. They were given a good workout for long weekend tours in the 4.5 months beginning Feb 2011 that I worked in East China. They did the job despite being ridden over some quite [winter] potholed country roads, remaining true all the while. Buy a set ...you will not regret it!

ProsGood value, built up nicely into a solid wheel.
I was lloking for a rim to replace an old worn MA2 rim on the rear wheel of my winter bike. I decide to have a go at replacing the rim myself (I have never tried this before) whilst using the original hub and spokes. I therefore needed a 32 hole low profile rim and the Rigida Chrina seemed to fit the bill.
I purchased a silver finish rim and then proceeded to transfer the spokes over to the new rim, one by one, having cable tied the new and old rims together. This went well and I slowly tightened and trued the wheel, using the bike on a workstand as a wheel jig.
This went very well and is wasn't too long before the wheel complete.
I have now ridden about 130 miles on the rim and so far it has remained true.

Weight Of Chrina Rim
By
03 Jul 2016
Hello,

I like to know if the weight mentioned of the Rigida Chrina Rim is correct. Sometimes 510gr is mentioned. What are the differences with the Rigida Racer in terms of Stifness and Strongness?

Best regards,

René Janssen the Netherlands
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

The weight for the Chrina rims should indeed be around 510grams. The actual strength of the Chrina and Racer rims are going to vary little, the main difference is in the profile of the rims. As the Racer rims have a deeper cross section they in theory are going to be slightly stiffer.

Thanks.

I would like to know if there is availiable the rigida chrina 722c, 622 road rim in black. That rim has a set of numbers in it which says: HERRMANS HPS 16x622/635/28" vh7 1309 0009. Thanks in advance, Grigoris Spiros
SJS Customer Service:

Why Is This Listed With An Incorrect Erd?
By
15 Oct 2014
There's a fair bit of confusion on the internet about whether the ERD on these rims is 603.5mm or 608mm. The rim I received from you today (October 2014) definitely has an ERD of 608mm.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

The ERD of 603.5mm was originally supplied by Rigida, we have just measured this rim ourselves and got an ERD of 610mm.

Thanks.
Is This Rim Finishing Work?(Coiour:Silver)

polished to a mirror like shine, nonmachined sidewalls
double eyelets?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

As it says in the description the rim has machined sidewalls and is double eyeleted. The finish is a dull silver and is not polished at all.

Thanks.
