The Andra gives a new meaning to strong wheels. The secret is in the details.

The Andra 40 rim is the solution to get the strongest wheels for bikes that need to withstand really hard use - from family bikes to electric and cargo bikes. The 25mm internal width works perfectly with all the wider tyres that are available.

The big secret behind the strength of an Andra wheel is the directional spoke drilling. The drilling can be offered under extreme angles and the smart bead for the nipple means that the spoke tension is evenly spread around the nipple head. The pinned connection of the joint adds extra strength and stiffness to the rims.

Just wondering why this rim doesn’t have eyelets?
30 Oct 2020
For ultimate integrity of the rim, these use no eyelets as they are usually the first thing to fail.

Can I use this for gravel bike 650b? recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.
13 Oct 2020
Hello, yes you can- 650b is often shorthand for the 584 rim size so this would suit. Andra 40 rims are rim brake and are certainly strong enough for gravel use.

Hello, can you confirm if this rim would be suitable for a 650b rim brake / Canti brake build? Many thanks
Yes, this is a 650b rim suitable for rim brakes.

ERD and spokes length
16 Jul 2020
Your ERD is 5 mms higher than the one mentionned by Ryde themselves. It s huge difference in terms of spokes lenght.
I need to order spokes and calculated with the 560mms ryde erd. Now, i feel confused. Should i re-calculate everything with your erd then ?
I will use the Shimano xt m756 hubs in case you have a suggestion of spokes length...
Thank you
Rydes ERD is incorrect is most cases, we have built thousands of wheels and are completely confident with our measurement.

CNC sidewall
04 Jul 2020
I have seen information regarding a CNC sidewall for this rim.
Can you explain this and the benefits of this please?

Also what 32H/AV means
Thank You
CNC rim = suitable for rim brakes. 32h = 32 spoke holes. AV = auto valve (schrader)

are these suitable for use with Nuvinco N171 hub and Magura HS33??
15 Apr 2020
because of the large diameter of the n171 hub would they have to be specially drilled?
Build the wheel X1 with all the spoke heads on the OUTSIDE yes, all will be fine no need to skew drill. RT 16/04/2020
