SJS is my "go to" retailer

ProsGood quality
SJS is my "go to" retailer for difficult to find items. My 90's Raleigh Dynatech MTB rear wheel rim (Mavic M232) had fractured due to brake pad abrasion. The hub and spokes were in excellent condition so the wheel was worth saving. I measured the ERD as 546mm. This Ryde Zac rim was the nearest I could find at 545 (advertised). On delivery I measured the ERD as 543mm so was a little concerned I would run out of threads when tensioning the spokes. As it turned out all was good. The rim was easy to true and of good quality (that is no "bump" at the join). Thanks SJS.

Can I use this rim with a Shimano FH-RM40-8S Hub? Can you advise on which spokes to use?
By

As long as the spoke hole count is the same then yes- sadly unless we have both hub and rim on hand we cannot advise spoke lengths as we have not had chance to measure both.

Spoke length query
By
18 Oct 2020
Hi
I'm looking to build these rims 3 cross onto a pair of 32h Shimano TX505 centrelock disc rims (links to Shimano site below). Could you let me know the optimum spoke lengths front and rear, drive and non-drive sides please? I'm a bit confused what Shimano mean by Offset (mm). I'd like to use J Tek black spokes as I've had good experience with these in the past.
many thanks
Jem

Hi there,

As we have never built that combination we could not directly advise; We do not have TX505 hubs here either to measure. If you have those hubs, we recommend using an online spoke calculator - this will guide you as to which measurements you need.

Can I fit 1 1/4 inch tyres to these rims?

Double Eyelets and ERD
By
19 Aug 2018
Hi

Can you confirm that these are double eyeletted, the Ryde website says the are single eyelet. Also can you confirm the ERD dimension as this also differs from the Ryde Website.

Thanks
Yes these are double eyelet rims. We have personally measured the ERD of these rims as we do not believe the provided information to be correct.

Thanks
can I use this with presta tubes or do I need an adapter to fit to the rim? Thanks.

Hi there,

You will need to use an adapter.

Thanks
Can you get Zac 19 with css coating, with drilling for Rohloff thanks!!

Hi there,

As the Zac 19 is a more entry level rim it is not offered with CSS.

The rims offered in CSS are the Andra and the Grizzly.

Thanks
