The Andra 40 Rims are the strongest in Ryde's line-up. Its versatility is so great that it can be used for cargo bikes to mountain bikes and can take loads of up to 180kg. The 25mm internal width works perfectly with most of the wider tires on the market today.

ProsIdeal for heavy riders and touring loads
Using Ryde Andra 40 rims for heavy-laden touring bicycle.
Rims are strong: 25-559 for wider tyres.
Best heavy duty rim by far

If you run a cargo bike, e-bike or you go through lesser rims regularly then these are ideal. I have Andra 40's on 2 e-bikes and have never had any problems with them after a couple of years of daily use. As a bonus schwalbe marathon plus tour tires go on by hand, unlike the Andra 30's.

Oops, just noticed this is a disc rim .. Does it still work with rim brakes? .. Many thanks

There is no brake surface for rim brakes, so use ONLY with DISC brake systems.
