ConsConsumable part of expensive saddle
ProsDoes the job
This seems to be a consumable part of the Brooks B17 titanium saddle on my bike. The first broke after 3 years, the replacement has broken 5 years on. I'd recommend buying a couple so you've got a spare on hand for the inevitable.
A little tricky to fit, winding the tension bolt back helps.
Otherwise no complaints.

This is the second titanium shackle I have bought for my B17 in 12 years due to structural failure ( I suppose the component does take a lot of abuse ) It is easy to install with a Brooks saddle spanner and a Allen key. . The product was sent quickly with no fuss.All good!

I have Finesse saddles on my bikes and wondered what the shackle did.

The shackle is used for being placed over the nose end of the saddle rails.
