ProsA quaility spoke for a straight forward build.
I was advised by Nik at SJS to build my light touring wheelset using these spokes. Great service and advice from my first enquiry. These Sapim Race spokes made for an easy build and are of a nice quality.
Highly recommended both spokes and SJS.
Good quality Spoke

I've used these in a few wheels, not had no breakages yet, despite some abuse. They do stretch a bit under tension though.

Sapim Race 230 in stainless does not show in the list, I cannot add to my basket.
part 17408L230
Sadly we don't stock these, maybe take a look at the silver DT swiss competition as an alternative.

Comparability with 2.6 mm hub flange hole.
By
31 Jul 2022
Hi, my bitex hubs (211) are listed as having 2.6 mm flange holes. Would it be required to use Sapim Strong or Alpine, or is Race adequate ? Use is for a touring bicycle under medium/ light load.
We would use DT Swiss champion or Jtek Plain gauge spokes if you want strong touring wheels, BUT Sapim race or DT Competition spokes will work fine for lightly loaded wheels.

287mm length ?
By
31 Jul 2022
Need these to use with a DT SWISS GR 531, and Bitex hubs. The DT wheel builder states 287, 288 and 290 as lengths, out of which 287 is not listed above. Can I just buy the larger length you have and have my local shop cut these on their spoke threader ?
We suggest consulting your local wheel builder on this, we can only confirm spoke lengths once our wheel builder has built the wheel in house.

are those spokes Rohloff compatible?
By
30 Dec 2019
Hi, Rohloff recommends to use Sapim spokes which are made especially for them to properly fit the Speedhub. (length of the bend) I guess, there are 2 kinds of Sapim spokes, the "normal" ones now made by Sapim, and those Sapim spokes, especially made for Rohloff to fit their hubs. Are the spokes offered those compatible with the Rohloff Speedhub? thanks
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/spokes-butted/?brand=rohloff are the Rohloff Sapim spokes we stock, the Sapim branded ones will also work.

Thanks - 31/12/19

Is This Right For My 2015 Raven/Grizzly Rim/What Length?
By
27 Oct 2015
Also with correct length can I just replace a bent spoke without stripping tyre & tube i.e. won't need to trim spoke end outside rim?
Is SAPIM 14G Nipple Key best for the job?
Hi,

On your bike the rear spokes are 236mm in length and the front spokes are 262mm in length. These Sapim spokes are what would have been fitted from new. If you are not replacing the nipple and it is only the one spoke then yes you should be able to replace without having to remove tyre and tube. This Yellow Sapim nipple key is actually the wrong size for the nipples that would have been fitted to your bike, the nipple key you need needs to be a 3.25mm size.

Thanks.
