Schwalbe Marathon Racer Rigid HS429 Tyre - 16 x 1 1/3, 35-349

These tyre are good value. My Brompton has a Crystalyte SAW 20 front hub motor wheel. The outer rim diameter I think is a few millimetres smaller than the normal wheel. A new, regular Schwalbe Marathon tyre (£30) is always a pig to get on, even on this SAW 20 wheel. This new HS429 was very easy to get on. It also blew off the rim on me twice, during riding, with a large bang, when inflated to 6 Bar. They should be fine on a regular, non powered front wheel with no extra weight, though. Maybe the puncture resistance is worse than on the regular Schwalbe M.

For a 16 inch tyre this is relatively easy to fit. I didn't need levers, thumbs were enough. SJSC delivery was fast, but a little expensive.
