The Original: The archetypal high quality touring tyre. The highly elastic GreenGuard layer is 3mm thick. One third of the GreenGuard is made up of recycled latex products. The 'Anti-Aging' sidewall can withstand the typical cracking that results from overloading due to insufficient inflation pressure for much longer.
E-Bike Ready. You can choose every Marathon for your E-Bike (E-25). The main sizes are approved and tested for E-Bikes up to 50km/h (E-50).

ConsThese tyres are very tall so I had to remove my mudguards.
ProsGrippy, hard wearing, puncture resistant.
I'm delighted with these tyres. They have terrific cornering grip, and I haven't had a single puncture in three months of near daily use. I've even taken my road bike off road on dirt tracks, and in woodland, and still no puncture.

ProsPuncture resistant and hard wearing
I dont like dealing with punctures and with Marathon Tyres they are a rare occurence. I use them on all my bikes and having recently acquired a 1970s Dawes Galaxy fitted these as soon as I could.

Commute route recently changed to include long section of cycle / pedestrian path leading to multiple punctures. But no more!! For a budget cyclist riding a 1970's Puch these are not cheap but the peace of mind is marvellous.

Prostough tyre
I've had these before and they have given sound service and few punctures. I hope these will be as good. Sjs sent them by next day delivery and they were cheaper than elsewhere.

ProsGood grip in wet & dry
Finding decent modern tyres for 27 x 1 1/4 wheels is not easy. These Schwalbe Marathons so far have provided really great grip in wet conditions, good speed in the dry and I've had no punctures yet on my daily London commute. SJS offered the best price I could find for these tyres in this size and delivery was fast. Overall I'm very happy.

ProsThe reflective stripe around the Rim
Haven't done many miles on this new tyre but it appears to be of good quality only time will tell. Pleased to be able to find a tyre with a good tread for my 27X11/4 wheels. Delivery was prompt and the price was very reasonable.

Which is the best 28-630 or 32-630 tyre for puncture resistance incl strong side wall protection?

I am increasingly riding my refurbished 1983 Raleigh Royal on tracks and bridleways and thoroughly enjoying it. The Continental Ultra Sport 28-630 currently fitted are unsuitable for this as they are prone to punctures and sidewall damage. Please could you tell me which of the 28-630 and 32-630 tyres you stock offer the greatest level of resistance to punctures and sidewall damage? Thank you.

The most puncture resistant tyres that we currently stock in that size is the Schwalbe Marathon original under sjs part #23958. These tyres have a 'green guard', Which is a piece of 3mm thick rubber which will protect from punctures from anything that is less than this size.
