In a world of ultralight aero carbon rims this is a pleasantly elegant tried and tested old school type rim with a sensible spoke count and an excellent dynamo hub. I bought this with the matching rear wheel (SJS Cycles part number : 44594) and they look fantastic on a naked Titanium frame with Shimano 105 group set. The dynamo does what it says on the tin with no fuss and there is no noticeable drag when riding. I wired up the dynamo with piggyback spades to (i) a SON Edelux II (SJS Cycles part number : 33361L036) [with a SON rear rack light attached to it (SJS Cycles part number : 37750)] and (ii) a Sinewave Revolution (all three of which I have reviewed separately). I chose to go with spade type connections rather than coaxial type connections for simplicity and in case of issues out on the road. I have over 1,000km and 10,000m of ascent on this setup. Highly recommended.

I have waited about 2 years before ordering this wheelbuild for reasons of the cost outlay and an injury to myself. I read many reviews and opinions on the various types of dyno hub and decided that as I would only be powering a front light alone and no gadgets, this would be the ideal hub for me. I had no doubts about the quality of the build and I got exactly what I expected, a good quality, strong wheel, (I went for 32 spokes), Which generates sufficient power at even very slow speeds with hardly any noticeable resistance. Comes with an allen key type release which I assume is for extra security. I have fitted this for now but may change back to quick release when I`m audaxing, just to avoid any extra faff. Wheel is no heavier than the OE wheel that it replaced.

I am very pleased with this wheel looks good on the bike and rolls beautifully. I was initially concerned about rolling resistance but these worries were completely unfounded it's negligible the difference ithe hub makes.
