Consblack hub and rim but silver spokes
ProsWell built, strong
Well built and as specified but would have orefered to pay more to have a LX or XT hub.

I recommend this product
ProsStrongly, well built
This is a solid wheel, well built with good components. I have another set on my Thorn Sherpa and it takes me anywhere and everywhere with confidence.
Just a shame I didn't realise I also need to buy rim tape (not included with the wheel), so need to place another order.

Can it take a disc brake and is it strong enough for rough trail tandem riding
07 Aug 2017
Hi, This hub will not take a disc brake, rough trail tandem riding is exceptionally hard on the rear wheel, I doubt this one would cope. Also check the overlock nut width you need, many tandems are 145mm as opposed to Mountain Bike 135mm. Thanks.
What Type Of Spokes / Hub Are Used To Build This Wheel?
22 Aug 2014
Can you please tell me what spokes are used, eg double or single butted? Also what version of the Deore hub (eg LX or DX)

The spokes used are DT Champion straight gauge spokes. The hub is just a basic Deore model, the FH-T610 model to be precise.
