Consput a Mich hub on and you could have a wheelset
Prosstraight and true. Well packaged. Rim wear indictor.
Very good wheel, used it with a nearly matching, same rim different hub. So almost looks like a wheel set.
Very good value wheel. The rim ID is 13mm so abit pushed for larger tyre sizes, but managed to fit a 28mm which as covered roughly 250 miles this summer gravel and road without signs of stress. the Weinnman rim has a wear indicator.
Easy to maintain, I had to swap out the axel for a longer version. Stripped and reassembled without a hitch. So doesn't need to be throw away.

ProsTop value
This wheel can't be bettered for the price. I've been using
32 spoke rears on a lightweight to carry large panniers of
heavy shopping and am renewing spokes on a monthly
basis. I'll be swapping this one in the next time I break
a spoke.
Although unbranded the rims are Weinmann a well respected
name in times gone by.

Rear 127mm OLN with late 80's Shimano 105 groupset
10 Mar 2020
I wish to use this wheel on a late 80's early 90's steel frame bike with a 127mm physical OLN measure which I think should be suitable with a small cold spread?
The bike has existing Shimano 105 groupset with 6SP index shifting, so I wonder if you could advise which 6SP freewheel will be most suitable? the original was either 13-24 or 14-24, not sure, but wouldn't mind changing to 14-28 if you think that might be acceptable?
Any guidance will be really appreciated
1. IRD Classica 6 Speed Freewheel
2. Shimano MF-TZ500 Hyperglide 6 Speed
130mm should be okay in most cases, the freewheel will be dependant on the derailleurs capacity.

Space down with nutted axle?
22 Nov 2019

I'm restoring an early 1990s Raleigh that has rear spacing in the 122mm range. Can I rebuild this down to an OLD of that range with a 170-185mm M10x1 nutted axle (namely SJS items 32632 or 37696)? Thanks.
Yes it is possible to do, but we have no direct experience of doing so, so would be unable to suggest exact parts to work.

Can I use this with a Shimano 7 speed?
30 Aug 2019

yes, this should work fine.
Can I use this with Sturmey Archer Chrome Plated 1/8 Inch Single Freewheel - 18T?
29 Jun 2019
Interested in whether i can use my single speed bike on an indoor trainer - if this wheel is compatible with the Sturmey freewheel or similar, it may be an ideal solution.
This is designed to take a multispeed screw on freewheel, not single speed. So the chainline would be quite far out!

Will this take a 5 speed freewheel & also do you do a matching front wheel?
11 Jul 2017
I'm restoring a classic road bike & need to replace the wheels. The rear mech is a suntour veloce rd-2600. Alternatively if these wheels don't take 5 speed do you know if the Veloce could actually work with a 6 speed freewheel? I know a lot of derailleurs work beyond what they were designed to.

In theory you could fit a 5spd freewheel to this wheel, you would just have plenty of additional clearance. Alternatively as the individual gear spacing is the same, with some adjustment it is possible that your derailleur will cope with 6 gears but this is not something we have tested so we cannot say for sure.

With This Work With An 8 Speed Free Wheel?

Yes this should work fine.

Possible To Reduce Oln Spacing Of This Rear Wheel To 122Mm?
09 Apr 2017
Hi, I am after a 700c screw on freewheel rear wheel (6/7 speed) to use on an older steel frame which has 122MM Rear Spacing/OLN. Do you think/know if the spacers used on this rear wheel could/can be moved around to enable the OLN to be reduced down to nearer 122mm? Or do you sell a 700c rear wheel which has 122 OLN distance? Thansk

With some different spacers fitted to the axle it would definitely be possible to space this wheel down to 122mm. You would need to be careful that you kept the comparative position of the wheel on the axle the same so you don't need to re-dish the wheel. You would also need to be careful that you still had enough space between the frame and the wheel for the freewheel.

Will This Take An Old (1990'S) Screw On Freewheel That Is Currently Screwed In To A Suntour Hub?
24 Jan 2017
I have a 1990's Orbit road bike. It has a suntour rear hub with screw on 7 speed freewheel. Would this wheel take the freewheel? I have just broken the suntour hub and need to replace the rear wheel but don't want to have to replace the freewheel etc.

This wheel will be fine to use with your current 7spd screw on freewheel.

Touring Bike Wheels
11 Jan 2017
Are these wheels strong enough for a touring bike with panniers (I am 80 Kg and envisage about 20-25Kg max on the rear pannier)?

This is only a basic wheel so whilst it should be able to cope with light touring, we would not recommend carrying any really heavy loads with it.

What Size Tyres Will Fit On This?
13 Dec 2015
Ca you let me know the range of tyre sizes I could fit on this wheel. Looking ot replace a wheel on a hybrid currently with 37mm tyres but I am thinking of dropping that down.

This wheel has quite a narrow rim so can only take narrow tyres, these sizes are outlined in our description and they say that this rim can take tyres between 18 and 25mm wide.

Is This A Front Wheel That Can Be Used With 25C Tyres
01 Dec 2015

This is actually a rear wheel, but it can indeed take a 25C tyre.

How Much Does This Wheel Weigh?
22 Jun 2015
I'm trying to source a replacement rear wheel (or wheelset?) 700cc for a screw on 7 speed freewheel at a reasonable price and weigh. Can you help? Thanks.

This wheel weighs 1090grams.
