Some batches have alternated between Schrader and Presta- we tend to say they are Schrader as this will work with both Presta and Schrader tubes.

Will a shimano HG50 8 speed casette fit on this hub?

I am building a bike and looking for good touring wheels. These have been recommended but not sure if the 8 speed shimano cassette will fit on the hub? Thanks!

Would this hub fit into a Genesis Aether frame?

My 2011 Genesis Aether is in need of some tougher wheels as I routinely carry panniers and also pull a bike trailer.
I use a HG-50 8 speed 12/25 cassette, and was wondering a) if the hub will fit into my bike frame, and b) if this cassette is compatible with it?

Yes the hub will work with your current 8-speed Shimano cassette, however, you will need to check the rear spacing of your frame to ensure the wheel will fit.

Further to my last question ... what weight spokes are they? I guess 2mm?

Would Sapim Strong spokes be more suitable?
Basic Viking tandem (does us well), V brakes
90kg (14st) front, 70kg (11st) rear.
Mainly on road, some good quality bridleways.
Electric front hub.
Mostly 20-25 mile max rides, 1000 m per year
Occasionally heavy laded (shopping) for 1 to 2 mile trips

Champion spokes are the correct dia for the shimano spoke holes, "will this wheel suit?" questions are also about the QUALITY of the build. If you managed for some time withthe standard offering that came with the bike, this wheel should be a vast improvement. However for "best" order Rigida Grizzly 700c, 622 Touring Rim with CSS Side Wall - Black in 48H (our part # 18886H48) plus Halo Spin Doctor Disc 8/9/10 Speed Rear Cassette Hub - Solid Axle - Black - 48 Hole (our part # 28527) plus Wheel Build with 14g Jtek SILVER spokes - per wheel 48H (our part # 46573S48) plus Swissstop Blue cartridge V Brake Pads - inc. Pins - for Ceramic & CSS Rims (our part # 32142) you MAY also need new brake shoes PERHAPS our part # 22571. RT 05/07/19
