Good Rear Light

I recommend this product
This was easy to fit and link up to the Schmidt Edelux with the SONDelux. It comes on straight away producing a good spread thanks to the 4 LEDs at different angles, and is bright whilst riding. Importantly, as many accidents occur with stopped cyclists being shunted from behind, the standlight is also bright and stays on for ages. The manufacturers 4 minute claim is very, very conservative!

ProsReliable, tidy
Mounts nicely on the rear mudguard. Reliable, bright light while in motion and good standlight when stopped.
Good But Not Great

Bought this as a replacement for my D Toplight Plus (rack mount) as i didnt want to run the rack all the time over winter.

First off the unit is not sealed at all, holes everywhere, so i hope the innards are water resistant! Secondly, the unit didnt work with the supplied wire, i had to switch to a dual cable, this may be a quirk of my setup/mudguards tho.

The light itself isnt exactly pretty and to be honest, its not that bright either. The light dosnt come on until you get upto around 8mph, and charging of the standlight takes much much longer than my old light. Then when it comes on, the standlight is rubbish! i thought it wasnt working at first but in pitch black you can just about see it, useless in traffic, completely unlike the D Toplight Plus.

Can My Dyno Hub Power These Lights
By
02 Jun 2016
Hello, I've just got myself a Raleigh Stowaway which came with a Sturmey Archer Dyno Hub, I Would Like To Upgrade The Lights On The Bike, Will The Dyno Hub Be Able To Provide Enough Power For A Front And Rear Busch-Muller Setup? Cheers
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

Providing the hub has a 6v 3w output then it will be fine for powering a set of Busch and Muller lights. If it only has a 2.4w output then it can only be used with a front light.

Thanks.

Hi
I've got a son edelux front light running from a son delux hub
Will this rear light work with this set up ?
How do I connect a rear light to this front light ? What kind of wiring or connectors do I need
Thanks
H Lee
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

Yes you can use this rear light with the Edelux front light. the cable uses a standard connection and a connection to the actual front light mount. The cable you need is SJSC part number: 15906.

Thanks.
How To Open And Service This Light
By

I was given this beautiful light and I would like to open it and clean and check it.
Please advise
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,

If you can remove the black metal bow spread across the centre of the light then you can access a retaining screw. Once this screw is removed you should be able to remove the entire front of the light.

Thanks.
